Plate making time :

During the production of solid-state photosensitive resin plates, when the plate is washed with a developing solvent, the solvent penetrates into the plate. The plate must be placed in the baking machine to heat the volatilized solvent, otherwise the printing plate will volatilize by itself during printing, which will affect the printing quality and the life of the printing plate.

The drying time of the plate is as follows:
Plate thickness 1.14mm–2.84mm: 1.5–2 hours.
Plate thickness 3.14 mm–7.00mm: 2 - 4 hours.

After the printing plate is made, it must be air-dried for at least 12 hours to ensure that the residual solvent and the plate are completely volatilized. Finally, the above comparison table shows that the liquid plate takes less time to make the plate than the solid plate. The solid plate generally needs to be baked at 65 degrees Celsius. After drying in a dryer for 2-3 hours, the plate can be restored to its original thickness. Thicker plates take longer to dry.

But the liquid plate is different. When the photosensitive resin is exposed to the film and the font is cured by the photochemical bonding reaction, the non-exposed part is still a flowing resin. More than 80% of the non-cured flowing resin can be recycled and reused by physical methods (extrusion, or high-pressure air blowing), and a small amount of resin remaining on the plate can be washed with water solvent, so the liquid plate is used in the plate making material and process. It is much more economical than the solid version. In the process of washing the plate, the plate only absorbs a very small amount of water solvent, and the thickness can be said to have not increased.

Therefore, it generally only takes 10-20 minutes to dry. The liquid plate drying takes only 15 minutes, while the solid plate drying takes only 15 minutes. It takes 2 hours, and the power consumption of solid plate making is 6 times that of liquid plate making during the whole plate making process. In this way, the time of the whole plate making process from exposure, washing, drying to post-exposure is reduced by more than 50% compared with the solid plate.
